Company visits

In addition to written documents and lab inspections of submitted test samples, company visits at the applicant's operating location where the certified products are made form another component of the OekoTex® certification.

In the case of new certifications, auditors of the commissioned OekoTex® member institutes will conduct company visits as close as possible to the certification process (but at latest within the first six months after an application has been filed). Companies which have been certifying their products according to the OekoTex® Standard 100 for some time, will receive their first visit in 2013 at the latest. In general, company visits will be carried out every three years.

The objective of the company visits is to ensure the optimum conditions for the certification - both for the commissioned testing institute (verification of technical prerequisites) as well as the applicant (best possible cost-benefit expenditures through systematic advice for selecting sample materials, product group descriptions, certificate versions, label use, QM measures etc.).
